Why We Install the Prairie Permanent Lighting System

Permanent white roofline lights on a stone and brick home at night

Permanent lights are only as good as two things: the system on your house and the people who put it there. At Angler Permanent Lighting we install one system, Prairie. We picked it because it’s built for people who never want to think about their lights again. Here’s what makes it different.

What the Prairie system is

Prairie Lighting is a permanent lighting system made in Calgary, Canada, and built to handle Canadian winters. It has three parts: an aluminum track that mounts along your roofline, smart LED pixels that sit inside that track, and a controller that runs everything from an app on your phone.

Why it’s the best system to have installed

1. A track matched to your trim, not lights stuck on it

Prairie’s track is aluminum and comes in a wide range of colors, so we match it to your fascia or soffit. The lights and wiring sit inside the track, out of the weather and out of sight. During the day it just looks like part of your trim. There’s no row of plastic pucks and no adhesive waiting to let go.

2. Built for weather far worse than Georgia’s

Prairie was designed in one of the harshest climates in North America: snow, ice, deep freezes, and high winds. The components are sealed and weatherproof. If it holds up to a Calgary winter, Atlanta summers and storms aren’t a problem.

3. Real warm white, plus millions of colors

Many smart lights make “white” by mixing red, green, and blue, which can look a little off. Prairie’s pixels add a dedicated warm-white LED alongside the color LEDs, so your everyday accent lighting looks like clean, warm house lighting. When you want color, you’ve got millions of options.

4. Every light is controlled on its own

Each pixel can be set individually. That’s what makes moving patterns, chases, and two-color looks possible, like red and green for Christmas or your team’s colors on game day. The app comes with built-in scenes, and you can make your own and set schedules so the lights turn on and off without you.

5. A warranty that actually covers you

Prairie backs its pixels with a 25-year warranty. On top of that, every Angler install comes with our own 5-year warranty. If something isn’t right, you call us. You don’t get back on a ladder.

6. Installed by a crew, not out of a box

A great system still needs a clean install. We measure your roofline, fit the track to every run of your trim, plan the power so there are no cords hanging, and make sure everything runs before we leave.

Prairie vs. a DIY kit

DIY kits like Govee cost less up front, and for some houses they’re fine. Here’s how they compare. For the full breakdown, read Govee permanent lights: why they’re cheap, and why they’re not the best option.
